Bunny Garden 2 the latest game from qureate is set to launch on April 16. In a recent interview, producer Yujiro Usuda discussed the difficulties of creating and producing games risque games.
In his interview with Famitsu, Usuda discussed how risque content is forced to tread a line in order to remain marketable. As their discussion shifted towards version differences between Steam and Nintendo Switch 2, Usuda had this to say:
I know there are many people who want to play games with sexual elements, not just qureate’s games. Prioritizing “not making people feel uncomfortable” and either not making games at all, or making them with very restrained expressions, wouldn’t make anyone happy. So, I want to continue making interesting games while exploring ways of expression that are appropriate for the times.
Usuda also lamented that it is difficult to introduce “slender” characters into Bunny Garden due to how it may impact age rating. Ratings boards may misinterpret slender characters as being younger than they’re intended to appear and restrict the sale of the game.
According to Usuda, qureate will continue to create games for an audience he describes as “slightly edgy gentlemen”.
A DLC for Bunny Garden 2 is also in the works, featuring even more salacious costumes including a cowgirl outfit.
Bunny Garden 2 is in development for Windows PC (via Steam) and Nintendo Switch 2, with a release set for April 16th.
