Developer Tasharen Entertainment has finally released their ship-building and seafaring sandbox, Windward, from Steam Early Access.
The game is now available in its full release across Windows PC, Mac, and Linux. Windward was designed from the ground up as a procedural cooperative game, playable both solo and with friends.
Windward is entirely procedurally generated, meaning that no two playthroughs will be quite the same. You start out with a tiny vessel and an empty cargo hatch full of dreams – eventually you can build up your ship into the perfect trading vessel, or maybe an unstoppable pirating corsair?
Here are some of the game’s key features:
- Thrilling Naval Combat – Battle pirates, NPCs and other players; raid the lands of rival factions and defend your own cities
- Relaxing Gameplay – Explore beautiful uncharted waters, become a master merchant or establish peace as a diplomat
- Cross-Platform Multiplayer – Form a fleet with friends for epic battles or peacefully sail the open seas together
- Beautiful Procedurally-Generated World – A unique experience during every campaign filled with tropical paradises and frigid icy waters
- Modifiable Map – Build new towns, disrupt stable regions and alter terrain
- Deep customization – Three separate skill trees with 30 talents that players can put more than 100 talent points into
You can find Windward here on Steam, for $12.74, a 15% discount from its regular $14.99 price.
