Brutal Action/Platformer Slain! Delayed to March Because It’s… Too Difficult

When a game is delayed, it’s typically because the developer or publisher saw that it needed further polish – it’s rare to see a game delayed because it’s impossibly difficult.

This seems to be the case with Slain!, as developer Wolf Brew Games confirmed the delay on their Steam page. The game was originally set for a PC release on December 9th of last year – only to be delayed to January 27th. Now it’s been pushed to March 24th.

“The game needs a few last tweaks because right now no mortal man or woman could possibly get past Slain!’s intense platforming, traps and monstrosities,” said Wolf Brew Games. This appears to have only come up now through recent playtesting of the game.

Slain! is also heading to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U, with a targeted April 2016 release window that still hasn’t changed.

    Oh I thought they meant it was too hard to make.
    Nah I think people will be fine. If people suck too hard then they suck too hard.

    This is why you have people play test your games.
    Everyone thinks their games/hacks/rpg maker/whatever is fair and balanced.
    They made it! Of course they know how to beat it with ease.

    Your game is never as easy as you think it is unless you made intentionally really easy.

    Wasn’t this supposed to be on Vita at some point? Anyway this type of game is perfect for handhelds.

    I was already tired of it when Dark Souls did it. It really hurt the game in my opinion because it was reduced to just being hard when it had a pretty cool way to handle lore that was so much more interesting than its difficulty.

    Maybe if mainstream games weren’t getting easier and easier, this wouldn’t happen. Personally I’m glad there are people making games that actually challenge you. (Not that I’m a fan of “punishing difficulty” games.)
