We’ve finally learned the official title for the Masaya Games-developed, 3DS bound, Langrisser reboot.

The news comes via Japanese retailer Rakuten, who lists the game for a mid-July release, alongside some new information. The game’s official title is Langrisser Re:Incarnation Tensei, which hilariously translates to Langrisser Re:Incarnation Reincarnation.

The new 3DS release is poised as a revival of the “legendary simulation RPG,” after 15 years. The listing also makes a note of the Langrisser series managing to sell over a million units across a multitude of platforms. Since the release of the original game in 1991, five numbered sequels have been developed.

Fans can expect features and systems from previous games returning in the 3DS reboot, including the special traits of each unit, mercenaries, and commanders, which have all been implemented with better ease of use. The story is described as a tale that unfolds via multiple powers, the Bright Army, the Imperial Army, and the Dark Army, all vying for power. The protagonist, a fledgling commander of mercenaries, seeks out his younger sister that he was parted with from a young age. The story changes and evolves depending on the player’s decisions, and there will be multiple endings.

There will be curious new “confession” events, where you can work towards getting a character to reveal their emotions to you. Each of the 28 events will have its own illustration, as well as full voice work, and the more characters you develop this far will appear in your particular ending. Hidden stages are also returning in the reboot.

The game has characters designed by Hiroshi Kaieda, voice work done by the likes of Miyuki Sawashiro (among others, over 40 in total), music composed by Noriyuki Iwadare, and finally a theme song that is sung by Okui Masami.

Finally, the game is getting a “Legend Box Limited Edition,” which comes with the following goodies:

  • Rosalia and Licorice Puchi Figures
  • The original 2-disc soundtrack album – It comes with a picture label featuring Langrisser 2‘s Chris and Liana, over 20 songs from the games Langrisser I, II, and Der Langrisser, as well as new songs from Noriyuki Iwadare, and finally Okui Masami’s theme song
  • A 64-page art book showcasing unpublished illustrations featuring the characters and world from series mainstay Satoshi Urushihara, and newcomer Hiroshi Kaieda
