Developer Tiny Dodo has finally posted an update to backers on Kickstarter on the status of indie horror adventure, Blue June.

Launched on Kickstarter in July of 2021, Blue June was originally planned to release in June 2022 for PC (via Steam). With the release date coming and going without a new release date in sight, some backers began to worry that the game had been cancelled.

Luckily, that wasn’t the case, as Tiny Dodo gave the aforementioned update on the status of Blue June. The biggest news in the update is Blue June will no longer be a 2.5 game but will instead of entirely 3D. Also of note is Tiny Dodo partnering with Xbox to bring Blue June to consoles.

Backers have reacted to the news joyfully, as for the past several months many had assumed the game was canceled. Many games on Kickstarter have quietly been abandoned after the developer stops posting updates on their Kickstarter wall. Paradise Lost: First Contact is one notorious example. Thankfully, it doesn’t look like Blue June will be joining that list.

Blue June is a 2.5D story-driven adventure game with elements of exploration, puzzle solving, stealth and horror. Play as June, a student of the prestigious Rose Hill Academy, and uncover the truth that lies within her mind.

STORY

A young girl is tormented by terrifying nightmares, slowly pulling her into the past. Before long, the real world begins to feel strangely foreign. The colors, sounds, and smells are no longer the same. With every passing day, the dream world seeps into the real one and soon, she might not be able to tell the difference…

GAMEPLAY

Players will navigate the world as June and interact with her nightmares, people and objects. Puzzles will require a keen eye as they scale with the intensity of June’s nightmares and delusions. Although the main story path will require casual effort, collectibles and secrets or hidden paths may not be obvious at first.
