Sad day for fans of extremely popular Korean gacha games as the viral new project Project KV was mysteriously canceled not long after its reveal.
A little over a week after the PV release, Dynamis One released a statement about cancellation of Project KV, citing inexperience and stirring confusion over their connection to Blue Archive.
Other sources claimed an inability to secure enough staff and sponsors as other reasons, with an implication of possible legal action from Blue Archive developer Nexon.
Not even a month ago many of us were ecstatic to see the reveal of Project KV, the new creation of Mr. Isakusan, the former game scenario director of Blue Archive, ready to open our hearts and wallets to support our addiction to girls with guns and swords, and the oddly familiar halo’s above their heads.
Throughout the last month we were drip-fed information and art about Project KV, which most of it was published on a X (formerly Twitter) account of the company Dynamis One, unfortunately all of those materials are now deleted with the project being canceled, including an official trailer of their upcoming game.
In the trailer it was teased that Project KV was intended to be a visual novel instead of a gacha game (which most people were speculating), and that many artists and previous Blue Archive developers were involved with the new game.
Many fans were suspicious how such a new project had so much talent behind it, so many promotional art already done is such a short time, how eerily similar it is to Nexon’s gacha game, and some were accusing Isakusan and Dynamis One of poaching Nexon’s employees and possible copyright infringement.
Many fans were hoping for two cakes, now only one remains.
Blue Archive is available now on mobile devices. You can check out our review here! (as far as mobile games go, we still recommend it!) An anime series also premiered earlier this year.
