We’ve got another rerun banner between new character drops. This time it’s the entirety of the Game Development Club featuring Midori, Momoi, Aris, and Yuzu!
While all of these characters are fan favorites, are they actually good mechanically? More important, are they worth rolling for?
Saiba Midori
Midori is a 3-star unit that comes bundled in the banner with her sister Momoi (more on that next). By herself, Midori is a decent Piercing damage Striker that’s more useful in clearing run-of-the-mill stages than pushing raids. She has a place in certain raids (like Chesed), quirky PvP comps, but more importantly in clearing the Activity Report Commissions if you haven’t done that yet.
Saiba Momoi
Momoi is a 2-star unit and as we’ve said before: DON’T ROLL EXPLICITLY FOR A 2-STAR. It’s nice to be able to really push her star ranking by farming her, but since she’s not Limited/Unique she can appear randomly in future banners anyways. As a unit, she’s almost better than Midori thanks to her narrow AoE that’s easy to target and clear with. This makes her another solid pick for Chesed and hard missions with plenty of Yellow enemies.
Tendou Aris
Aris is a rare Blue unit, so if you’re lacking Mystic strikers for raids like Goz or Shiro & Kuro then here’s a chance to pick one up. She’s a straightforward unit with a wide line-based AoE that does huge damage when it’s allowed to charge up.
Hanaoka Yuzu
The shyest of the Game Development Club, Yuzu is a deceptively good auto-attacker with her passive that increases her Crit Damage. Using her EX ability isn’t even necessary since her passive ability also triggers her self-buff. However she’s overshadowed by Yellow Strikers like Maki and Kazusa.
Should I Pull?
None of these students are Limited/Unique which means they can all appear as a random 3-star in other pulls. We know we keep saying this but we’re -STILL- catching up to Japanese servers and we’re proceeding rapidly through events to get there.
There’s some amazing Limited/Unique students coming up in the near future. Mainly Mika in late July and a few others in August and September. So you do have a little bit of time to replenish your Pyroxenes if you pull.
To sum it up: Don’t pull. None of these students can’t be picked up later and they’re not necessary for pushing high end content. Yuzu does appear on high end Binah teams and Aris appears on high end Perorodzilla teams, but there are more general-purpose students that fit their roles better.
Waifu Clause
As always, if you really like the student’s design then more power to you. These guides are more about the student’s place in the meta.
