Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Playable at E3 2016

Full Disclosure: I have financially backed Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night on Kickstarter.

Inti Creates have confirmed that Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will be playable at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.

“This E3 preview is a simple playable demo and tutorial of this Minerva stage,” creator Koji Igarashi said in the update. “The lesser demons we’ve introduced in the last update (Morte, Seama, and Dullahammer) will appear, and the magi-crystals players will obtain from enemies, also known as “Shards,” will also be included.”

All backers of the 60$ tier or above will receive the same E3 demo on June 13th. The demo is only for Windows, and will be distributed through Steam. Featured above, a new trailer was revealed to showcase what to expect in the new playable demo.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is currently in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, PC, Mac, Linux, and PS Vita.

Glancing over the title real quick I thought it was a Castlevania game…

    Oh.

Wasn’t there a bunch of controversies or something about this game ? I know people were mad at something. I think it was something about the camera view / perspective or something else. I remember the developer showing the fans about level design or something. Can anyone jog my memory ?

I honestly don’t remember a bunch of controversies about this one, but I do remember plenty of people pissed off ONCE (Which technically counts as a controversy I suppose) when it was revealed the game was going to be in 3D because Kickstarter concept art was in (pretty good IMO) 2D.

Originally some people, myself included, were disappointed because they got 3D graphics when they expected delicious pixels. Then the graphics came together really nicely anyway and those complaints died out.

Oh, and of course some people were angry because of boobs!

have to admit though that I think sprites would of worked alot better, you cant just 3D everything, just look at super robot wars and compare there 3D titles to the classic series with its super deformed robots, yeah theres a reason they stick with that style.

The gameplay looks much slower than Symphony of the Night. The environments are pretty though.

What makes it worse is they probably think: “I’ve invested in this product so I’m justified in complaining for a change.”

The female form is problematic. Solution- Less female characters in games.

Looking at the rate at which this seems to be progressing, as well as the apparent quality of it, it becomes so painfully obvious it was Inafune and him alone that held back Mighty No 9 in all the worst ways.

But then there’s not enough female characters in the game. I need my equal female representation!

Isn’t it ironic that these people hate to look at women? They hate the female form and they hate anything that makes a women different than a man.

Although I generally consider kickstarter cancer, this is looking very nice. Glad to see the spirit of Castlevania will live on after Konami raped its corpse. Will definitely give this a shot when it’s out.

Now I feel bad for not backing this game, it seems that the development is going smoothly and it’s delivering what it promised unlike some other kickstarter project I’m not naming, and IGA is even showing a demo for E3

I expect great things from this game.

I wouldn’t have minded if it was in 3D or pixels honestly. A 2010s game can be good and look like it belongs on a Game Gear.

if MN9 took a dump on the kickstarter scene, bloodnstained looks like it’s gonna pick it up and try to clean the mess a bit

seriously, it looks just like what people were promised, more or less, that’s great
hopefully it will turn out good

IIRC, the recent SRW games like OG2nd actually use 3D models instead of sprites. It’s just that they animate them in a way to make them look completely like the super deformed sprites of old. Disregard me if I’m wrong. I’m just going off some hearsay.

Really looking foward to playing this game. Although, honestly I was execpting something more 2D. But, the whole 3D design looks great just same.

I’m glad i backed this, it looks super great, tho i kinda wish the gameplay was a bit faster, but that’s not really a problem.

I know there’s a big difference and that OG’s look nothing like their attempt with Neo. What I heard was that OG2nd used 3D models designed to look like sprites instead of using the old method of 2D sprites that required several pieces to be moved individually to form an animation. Ehh, it’s just some hearsay so it doesn’t matter for anything in the long run.

I am almost certain that Cerberus Ignite’s Ignite Pike used a 3D model at the end of its animation when looking at the explosion though.

You can still back it. But do it soon.

    Per: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/iga/bloodstained-ritual-of-the-night/posts/1592543

    Demo Information

The preview demo that you’ll be getting is the same build IGA and the team will be showing at the Xbox booth at this year’s E3. We plan to start distributing it during the show or shortly afterward. Some FAQs (figuratively asked questions):

Who gets the demo? We’ll be sending it to everybody who pledged at a $60 tier or higher and filled out their backer survey by June 13.

What platform is it on? Windows only; we’ll be distributing it digitally, through Steam, so make sure the e-mail address on your survey is current!

Is this the Beta? Nope! The Beta comes later, and will still only be available to backers who pledged $60 or more and ordered a Steam or DRM-free PC version of the game.

Wait, now I want the demo! How can I— Your survey links are still active! If you upgrade your tier through your survey before June 13, we’ll be sure to include you on the list.

I’ve got a $60+ tier, but what if I haven’t filled out my survey yet? Your survey must be filled out by June 13 to receive the demo. Send us a message through Kickstarter or email [email protected] if you can’t find your survey link! (Remember: We aren’t using Kickstarter’s built-in survey, so look for an e-mail from Fangamer containing your personal [and reusable] survey link.)

What… what if I haven’t backed the Bloodstained project at all? You can still receive the demo if you back the project through igavania.com/back and pick a $60+ tier by June 13!
