Blood is a beloved first-person shooter made on the Build Engine, which powers classics like Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior.
The Build Engine is so influential that even 2019’s Ion Fury bases itself on the open source port of Duke Nukem 3D.
The engine is almost 30 years old at this point, which makes it a piece of gaming history, considering how famous the games powered by it are. Decades of history will always spark curiosity, which is where x0r_jmp comes in.
Leaker x0r_jmp made it their mission to archive the development of Build Engine games, with Blood’s 1996 source code being their newest gift to gaming history.
x0r_jmp usually shows up on 4chan and delivers the source code to famous Build Engine games, usually from the Duke Nukem series, after that, they leave until they have something else to share.
It is worth noting that Blood already has excellent source ports, so this only serves to give fans a glimpse into an earlier build of the game and the historical value that comes with it.
x0r_jmp also posted a preview for a Duke Nukem Forever asset CD, which may also be leaked in the future (click to enlarge):
x0r_jmp has a Rentry page for their leaks, which also has a contact e-mail in case anyone in possession of Build Engine goodies wants to share.
The HD remastered port for Blood has been available since 2019 for Windows PC via Steam and GOG, for $9.99.
