Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain is Finally Re-Released

We’ve learned some fantastic news just in time for Halloween – the legendary classic Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain is finally re-released for PC, via GOG.

The news that Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain is finally re-released means the long-lost progenitor of the entire Legacy of Kain franchise is now widely available digitally and legally via GOG, for a measly $6.99 (there’s a 10% discount reducing it to $6.29).

Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain was originally developed by Silicon Knights and published by Crystal Dynamics for the PlayStation in 1996 and for PC in 1997.

Key staff on the game have moved on from the series since – like its director, Denis Dyack, who is working on a Lovecraft-themed action RPG named Deadhaus Sonata. Amy Hennig, one of the main writers behind the original games, is one of the main writers on the big new Square Enix RPG Forspoken.

Here’s a brief rundown on the game that started it all:

One of the darkest games of all time, Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain for the PC takes gamers on an epic quest through a gothic universe fraught with murder, magic and vengeance.

Accentuated with cinema-quality voice-overs, dynamic lighting effects and more than 25 minutes of stunning full-motion-video footage, Legacy of Kain features an engrossing storyline that invites gamers to embark on a journey through an expansive world containing more than 100 hours of intense, blood-sucking, spell-casting gameplay.
