Bloober Team halts sales in Russia over invasion of Ukraine

Bloober Team halts sales in Russia

We’ve learned Bloober Team halts sales in Russia, over the ongoing invasion and war in Ukraine.

The Polish developer noted their decision to pull sales of their games in Russia and Belarus over the Ukraine invasion “is not meant as a retaliation against the people of these regions, but as a statement against the war.”

Bloober noted while their decision “might affect many Russian and Belarussian players who are not involved in this invasion,” they think “every step that can help stop the war is worth taking.”

In blocking their games from being sold in Russia, they hope to express “full solidarity with the Ukrainian people” and to put “pressure on Russian and Belarussian public opinion.”

News that Bloober Team halts sales in Russia over the Ukraine invasion and war is the latest in a series of other tech companies and game developers cutting off their sales and services in protest.

Previously, The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt RED halted their sales in Russia, while ESL has suspended Russian esports teams and tournaments in the region.

Bloober Team’s latest game, The Medium, is available on Windows PC (via the Microsoft Store, and Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. In case you you missed it, you can find our review here (we recommend it!)
