Following Blizzard Entertainment’s decision to suspend pro-Hearthstone player “Blitzchung” over his support for the Hong Kong protests, the company has been called to question by fans worldwide ever since. Now, the company has cancelled a launch event for Overwatch, which is getting a Switch port.
The launch event was set for tomorrow, October 16th, at the Nintendo store in New York City. The Switch port for Overwatch is set to be released today.
Blizzard offered no explanation behind the cancellation, however it’s safe to assume the company is avoiding public appearances of any kind until their BlizzCon convention, which is set for next month. Blizzard is expected to have some kind of boilerplate response, at least something better than their initial statement regarding Blitzchung’s suspension.
