Blackmore is a kickstarter funded adventure game by the talent from iconic games within the genre like Snatcher, Policenauts, Silent Hill, and so on. The game has quite the talented team behind it, but let’s talk about what has caught our eye regarding the game itself.
The game seeks to embrace what made the games that the team worked on before so great, specifically great writing, an excellent story, a haunting and original score, and of course – well thought out and designed characters. The project even has talented voice actors like David Hayter and Jeff Lupetin already signed up to lend their voicework.

Instead of having the story and world set within a futuristic city, the team at iQiOi are looking to the past, and they’re welcoming a style that is not popular among the game development community – Victorian era steampunk fantasy. You play as a strong and bold woman named Emma Blackmore, who has the help of her small robotic sidekick named Descartes, as they attempt to track down a serial killer who has been on the loose in East London.
Blackmore is looking for $200,000 dollars to make it the real deal, and it will be developed for PC and Mac, should it be funded. Home consoles are noted as a “high priority,” although stretch goals will need to be met for that to be possible. I’m curious if they have the game playable in any sense, since it seems there is no mention of what state the game’s development is at currently.
