A new series based off of the original Black Rock Shooter song and illustration has been announced.
Originally just a simple character image of a girl with black hair and a glowing blue eye, the character evolved after a fan of the artwork made a song using the vocaloid Hatsune Miku. Since then, the character has evolved into receiving their own manga, OVA, and eventually a full length series in 2012.
The series follows two girls, Mato Kuroi and Yomi Takanashi. The two become fast friends as Mato eventually breaks Yomi out of her shy shell. Unbeknownst to both of them, the two also exist in a parallel universe as the titular Black Rock Shooter and Dead Master respectively.
