If you are a Call of Duty Black Ops Zombies fan, you are most likely playing through the different maps in Call of Duty Black Ops 6. Last month, Treyarch released the first DLC map for Black Ops 6 called Citadelle Des Morts. Despite the map being out for a month, we have noticed that there are several people out there who still do not know how to get the Bastard Swords and upgrade them in Citadelle Des Morts. This month, alongside the Squid Games update, Treyarch released the Directed mode for Citadelle Des Mors walking players through the Easter Egg steps. Despite the game mode being available, many do not feel like playing it since it is capped at round 15 and excludes the other Easter Eggs available on the map.
Later on in the Citadelle Des Morts Easter Egg, you will need to find different artifacts in order to unlock the different Elemental Incantations. These Incantations can also be helpful in killing the Doppleghast and Amalgam or getting out of tricky situations.
In Directed Mode, the game will guide you to unlocking the Paladin’s Brooch first. In order to find the Brooch you will need to complete a light puzzle that starts in the Dining Hall. Above Vulture Aid, there will be a crystal on a platform that you can shoot, doing so will start the process to reveal the Paladin’s Brooch. In order to redirect the light, you will need to shoot the stands at an angle to get them to turn and reflect. Once you have shot all five stands correctly, the beam will now be pointing at the bust located in the Alchemical Lab.
Now with the Paladin’s Brooch in your possession, you can start the Light Ritual in the Dining Hall. Walk over to the Lion mural and a glowing Lion symbol will appear on the floor. Interact with it and the Brooch will hover over top of it. Now you will need to kill zombies in the area to charge the brooch. Once you have killed enough zombies to charge the Brooch a stand will appear with a sealed box. Use Solais to open up the Incantation box granting you access to the Light Incantation.
Once the Light Incantation is done, you will need to move on to the Fire Artifact. In order to find the Fire Artifact, you will need to light the three fire beacons outside of the castle. In order to do this, you will need to either use Caliburn’s special ability or hit the beacon with a Molotov. If you are not at the right level, you will not be able to craft a Molotov and will have to rely on finding one that has been dropped or using the special; impact grenades and other explosives do not work on the beacons.
After each beacon is lit, fireballs will spew out of the beacon and land within the castle walls. These fireballs will spawn zombies and you will need to kill them; killing them with the sword allows you to charge up the special ability again and move on to the next beacon. Once the third beacon has been lit, a Doppleghast will spawn carrying Ra’s Ankh. With Ra’s Ankh in your possession head down to the courtyard by the Arsenal Upgrade station; a glowing dragon symbol will appear. Place Ra’s Ankh to initiate the Fire Ritual. Similar to the light incantation, once you have killed enough zombies an incantation box will appear. Melee it with Caliburn to open up the Fire Incantation.
With the Fire Incantation unlocked, it is now time to move on to the Electric Incantation. In order to start the process, you will need to head to the hilltop stables and acquire the horseshoe. Above the doorway facing the castle, you can see the horseshoe hanging. Shoot it to cause it to fall to the ground; the horseshoe can be a bit temperamental so you may need to shoot it more than once.
Once you have Otto’s horseshoe you will need to charge it. Head back up to the castle walls and launch yourself out of the cannon to electrify Pegasus’ horseshoe. Upon landing you will need to find the horseshoe; you can do this by heading to the hillside and picking it back up. Be careful, lightning will strike various points in the area and zombies will spawn. Now that it is charged, you can take Pegasus’ Horseshoe to the Electrical Ritual and start the charging process. Lightning will spawn zombies around the area which you can be killed to charge the artifact. Once the artifact is charged, the Electrical Incantation will be available. Melee it and unlock the box.
After unlocking the Electrical Incantation, only one remains the Dark Incantation. In order to unlock the Dark Incantation, you will need to get the Artifact dropped by the Raven. The Raven can be found within the cave slide. In order to access the cave slide you will need to head to the Dubliette Room and pull the lever! Once you are sliding down the slide, you will need to look at the right-hand side to find, shoot at, and spook the raven. The Raven can be found on the right-hand side right before the slide turns towards the exit.
With the Raven spooked out of the cave, you will need to shoot it down in order to obtain the talon; if on Standard mode, you can let the Raven fly around seven times to get a free perk. Once you obtain the Talon, you will need to head back to the Undercroft to start the Dark Ritual. The Dark Ritual spot can be by the Tombstones. Like the other rituals, you will need to kill zombies to charge the artifact. Once the Talon Artifact is charged the incantation box will rise up; use Bamung to unlock the Dark Incantation box.
Now that you have completed all four artifact rituals and unlocked the four incantations, you can use these freely to kill zombies and continue with the Easter Egg steps. The incantations will respawn a few seconds after being picked up so they can be a useful tool.
