Developer Game Science has announced Black Myth: Wukong has topped 18 million copies sold, merely weeks after its global debut last month.

The popular action-adventure game set in classic Chinese myth Journey to the West has sold over 18 million copies within two weeks of its August launch. The game sold over 10 million copies days after its launch.

The news of the new sales milestone was confirmed by Daniel Wu (via Bloomberg), the biggest external shareholder in the game’s developer Game Science.

Alongside the new milestone was the news that Game Science is already at work on a large-scale expansion for the game, though details weren’t shared.

Black Myth: Wukong was just launched on August 20th, 2024, for Microsoft Windows (via Steam and the Epic Games Store) and PlayStation 5. The Xbox Series X|S was delayed to optimize the port.
