BioWare has announced they’re delaying big features planned for Anthem, as well as a big new event the game has coming.
The developer confirmed they’re delaying a number of core features planned to release in free, post-launch updates, including Guilds, Leaderboards, and more – as they’re currently focusing on bug fixes, overall stability, and flow of gameplay.
“We set aside time for this work, but the reality is there are more things to fix and improve than we planned for,” BioWare said in an update over on the game’s subreddit. “While this is the best thing to do for the game, it means some items from the calendar will be delayed.”
The following features and content have been delayed:
- Mastery System
- Guilds
- Legendary Missions – Phase II
- Weekly Stronghold Challenge
- Leaderboards
- Some Freeplay Events
- Cataclysm
BioWare still hasn’t said much on the Mastery System, however guilds, weekly Strongholds, and the Cataclysms were needed end-game content – to keep players playing the game.
“The Cataclysm is an important addition to the game and it’s currently a big focus for the team,” BioWare said on Reddit. “The Cataclysm will bring new challenges and rewards and pushes the story of Anthem forward. As our work continues, we will share more with you in May.”
Anthem is now available for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. In case you missed it – you can find our thorough review for the game here.
