Independent British studio Big Robot (Sir, You Are Being Hunted) have announced their next project: The Signal From Tölva.

The game is described as a “single-player first-person exploration and combat game”, and it drops the procedurally generated environments of their debut game – opting instead for a completely hand-crafted experience.

Featured above, you can view the game’s debut trailer. The game is also likened to an “open-ended shooter, an action game, and a canvas for exploration.” The two pillars of its experience are: exploration and combat.

Players will yet again be involved with robots, only now they’ll be remotely controlling them instead of being savagely hunted down by said robots. What happens when your robot dies? “When that chassis inevitably meets a violent end, you’ll simply connect to another.”

The Signal From Tölva will be launching sometime early next year for both Windows PC and Mac OS.
