Big Phones Won’t Fit in the Fallout 4 Real-Life Pip-Boy

While the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition pre-orders have been sold out for good (according to Bethesda) here in the Americas, we’ve learned a little bit regarding the actual Pip-Boy itself.

Over on the Bethesda blog, the developer announced the short list of phones that will fit into the wearable piece of memorabilia. While the foam inserts will fit the iPhone 6, iPhone 5/5s, iPhone 4/4S, Samsung Galaxy 5, and the Samsung Galaxy 4, anything larger than these models will probably not fit.

You can find the actual blurb about the supported phones below:

The Pip-Boy included will have foam inserts that fit iPhone 6, iPhone 5/5s, iPhone 4/4S, Samsung Galaxy 5, and Samsung Galaxy 4. In addition, using the customizable foam insert you should be able to fit most other popular smartphone devices.  As we wanted to stay faithful to the dimensions of the in-game model, any smartphones larger than the models listed will not fit inside the wearable device.  For these larger devices, our Pip-Boy companion app will still be available.

Until we get the full list (if they ever publish one), consider yourself out of luck if you own one of those phablets (like a Samsung Galaxy Note or the iPhone 6+). Finally, Bethesda are still taking pre-orders for the Pip-Boy Edition of the game in Europe, while the status of remaining stock will be coming some time next week.

Fallout 4 is launching across PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 10th of this year.
