Beyond Human is Equal Parts Devil May Cry, Mega Man, and Metroid

Beyond Human is described as some kind of amalgamation of various elements from Mega Man, Metroid, and Devil May Cry – all bundled up into some fantastical science experiment of sorts.

The Dutch indie studio behind the game have taken it to Kickstarter, with a funding goal of 20,000 euros. Featured above, you can view a brief gameplay teaser trailer for the game showing off its various elements. I’d honestly say the most impressive piece is the game’s coagulated meta-game of sorts, ranging from the melee combat to the various abilities the protagonist, Adam, is equipped with.

To further explain the combat, the team has likened it to something that is combo-based and easy to get into, but very hard to master. You’ll naturally be able to unlock new weapons by defeating bosses and mini-bosses. However, you’ll probably want to focus on getting your basic melee attacks and combos up to snuff for those dastardly boss fights, which are definitely compared to those seen in the Mega Man series.

Beyond Human takes place in a post apocalyptic setting where Adam wakes up with a curious dose of amnesia, being completely oblivious to what happened to his world, or why he was in a coma. The Metroidvania type world is going to pit you against eight major bosses, over 20 mini bosses, and tons of random baddies throughout the various environments.

Should the game be funded on Kickstarter, the devs behind the game are looking to ship it by July of 2016 across PC, Mac, Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita.
