While Ubisoft showed off more of Beyond Good & Evil 2 at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, we still have no idea when the game will ever come out, and if it does, what platforms it will launch for. However, now we’ve learned the game will be in a more playable state next year.
The news comes via series creator Michel Ancel, who posted more concept art for the game on his personal Instagram page. When a fan asked for an update on the game’s progress, Ancel said “we aim for a playable beta for the end of next year.”
The development with Beyond Good & Evil 2 has been somewhat off and on, with the earliest indication a sequel to 2003’s Beyond Good & Evil was happening as early as 2007. At the time it was thought to be a direct sequel starring original protagonist Jade, as Ancel said he was hoping to reuse Jade in a project that was very dear to him. We now know Beyond Good & Evil 2 is a prequel.
We’ll keep you guys posted.
