Betrayer is an interesting survival horror-esque type of game featuring a mysterious and yet creepy American colony in the year 1604. Over a hundred men, women and children left England for the new world and settled this new colony, however they all either vanished or died from inexplicable causes. Through a first person perspective, you explore the island and witness horrors that lie in wait.

The game is in development by Blackpowder Games, a studio made up of ex Monolith developers that worked on the games F.E.A.R. and No One Lives Forever. Originally, the game had a strict monochrome style that only let bright reds shine through to accentuate certain features. Now, this has been relaxed and is completely optional, as seen in the teaser trailer below:

Betrayer has been available on Steam Early Access for a few months now, but it’s finally got a release date – the 24th of this month. Blackpowder Games have confirmed that the game will get a five dollar price hike once it’s released, so for now you can get it for only $14.99 dollars via its Steam page.
