Bethesda’s Paid Mod “Creation Club” Launches Today for Fallout 4

Bethesda announced the Creation Club at this year’s E3, and they’ve now launched the service for the public.

While the paid, player-made content driven service is planned for both Fallout 4 and Skyrim, its currently only available for the former. Support for Skyrim is said to be coming “soon.”

The key here is that these new add-ons (weapons, armor, accessories, etc) are developed by either Bethesda employees or third-party creators from the community and reviewed by Bethesda to make sure they don’t totally break the game. Coming from this, these add-ons will be paid with in-game currency, which can naturally be purchased with real-life money.

Fallout 4 has been updated to version 1.10 on PC to get the Creation Club implementation, with support for the console versions on track for tomorrow.

Despite the negative backlash from the community from the onset of this service being announced and now being finally launched – Bethesda has been keen on their stance that free, community-made and maintained mods will remain untouched.
