While Bethesda is currently busy putting out new content for The Elder Scrolls Online, and Fallout 4, as well as the upcoming remaster for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, some fans have already begun wondering if the company will put out the next title in the Elder Scrolls franchise.
The rumoring comes after Bethesda’s Todd Howard confirmed the existence of the game, during YouTube’s Live at E3 stream. “I think it’s good to tell our fans in these moments, yes, of course we are,” he said when asked if The Elder Scrolls VI was being planned.
However, Pete Hines, Bethesda’s vice-president of PR and marketing, further clarified Howard’s comment over on Twitter:
“We aren’t working on TES6 at the moment,” said Hines. When asked if the game’s development was being put on the back-burner because of The Elder Scrolls Online, he said: “Because they have two other major titles to work on.”
Finally, when asked if he had an estimate as to when fans could expect The Elder Scrolls VI to ship, Hines replied, “Nope. Years and years.”
