I think that third parties like Bethesda and EA should only have a conference if they have something substantial to show. Last year they spent way too much time on Dishonoured 2 and this year they won’t have much other than Prey, which is receiving a mixed response to say the least.

Unless they pull a proper Elder Scrolls out of their ass, I won’t really be all that interested.

They’ll announce that the new TES game will be an on rail shooter judging by the way that franchise has devolved.

Prey comes out over a month before this conference, so they’ll probably be showing a DLC trailer at most.

“Imitation IS the sincerest form of flattery”
So they admit the games they make from the ips they’ve recently acquired will be imitations of the games of the past, games that evolved their own respective genres and gaming in general ? Because thats what I take away from that statement.

Prey and TESO: Morrowind will both be out by then and the only other announced games are the new Quake and Hearthst-TES Legends so I’d expect a lot of new shit. Dunno what though, Evil Within 2? New Vegas style spin-offs for Fallout and TES? Probably not enough for a press conference unless they have 10-20 minutes per game.

Apparently Todd’s team is working on some other game to take a break from cycling between Fallout and Elder Scrolls so I wouldn’t expect anything regarding mainline TES. Then again, you have to take anything that comes out of the mouths of Howard and Hines with a mountain of salt.

This means that they’ll have even less to show during the conference.

    >And since you guys love Morrowind so much, we put it’s combat mechanics in this Oblivion Remaster so you can have the best of both worlds!

They like to hack elements out with every game they put out.I’d say it’s getting to the point where a RPG fan will find absolutely nothing of value in a TES game.

Skyrim at least had skills, but FO4 axed even that. At this rate your character will have a name and backstory and the only character customisation is getting perks every half an hour.

Someone needs to release a Morrowind clone with updated graphics and combat(change as little as possible to avoid a lawsuit) at the time they release the new TES.

The last particularly Elder Scrolls-y project I recall was Frontiers which unsurprisingly is still massively bogged down by the sheer scope of the project years on. Their games may be degrading in quality but that doesn’t change open-world games requiring a gargantuan amount of effort to make, even if you were just to make a half-baked TC mod with the OpenMW engine.

Yeah I know. It’s a pity, really because they were extremely good at it.The only true competition they had was Piranha Bytes with Gothic 2.Now we’re getting this diluted shit from them and it’s just sad.

They have three projects in the works. Two major games and one mobile game (probably an Elder Scrolls themed version of Shelter. The other two projects we can already guess, Elder Scrolls 6 which is a few years off so no announcement, and New Vegas 2 developed by their new Canadian studio. Could be wrong it could be a new IP (I think they said they were working on one) but definitely will be getting a New Vegas 2 announcement. No way Zenimax is going to sit on that franchise for that long with nothing to show for it.

They’ll have a New Vegas 2 announcement and probably push Prey. New Vegas 2 will not be developed by Obsidian. Also expect and Evil Within 2 announcement.
