Bethesda Disables Nukes in Fallout 76, Investigating Bug With Launch Codes

Bethesda has disabled the nukes in Fallout 76 after discovering a new bug with how they’re unlocked.

Players that were farming the nuke codes noticed the supposed new codes were actually duplicates from the previous week, meaning the codes won’t work if put into the nuclear silos.

Players initially thought the lack of new codes was an intentional design choice by Bethesda, with new codes to be released in later updates or what have you. This was clearly not the case.

Following the discovery of the bug, Bethesda noted they’re investigating the issue. A hotfix is expected to be released soon to fix the issue, but in the meantime the developer has disabled access to nuclear silos.

Lastly, it’s worth mentioning Bethesda posted an update recently where they promised new in-game events, new Vaults, player vending, and even a new PVP mode – you can read more about that here.

Fallout 76 is now available for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. In case you missed it – you can find our very thorough review for the game here.
