Terrakion Raid Counters in 2022

The Terrakion Raid replaces the Virizion Raid in Pokemon Go.

This past weekend, Pokemon Go trainers had the opportunity to participate in the Hoenn Mega Raid Day event; during the event, trainers had the chance to battle against the debuting Mega Blaziken, Sceptile, and Swampert raids. Once the event was over, the legendary and mega raids returned to normal. Since then, trainers have been able to battle against the Mega Abomasnow and Virizion raids.

Starting on December 8th, the Terrakion raid will replace the Virizion raid; meanwhile, the Mega Abomasnow raid will be replaced with Mega Aggron. Like Virizion, Terrakion’s shiny variation will be available. So keep an eye out and if you are lucky, you might get your very own shiny.

Now let’s dive into the best Terrakion raid counters.

Terrakion Raid Counters

Going into the Terrakion raid, trainers will need a team of Pokemon with type effective moves, well-rounded Pokemon, or high defensive stats. Overall, Terrakion is a averagely balanced Legendary raid Pokemon. Thankfully it is easy to take down due to its vulnerabilities and average stats.

The raid can be easily completed by a team of 2 to 5 trainers; a team of 4 to 8 trainers can take it down quicker and a team of 8 to 20 trainers can burn through it making a better completionist bonus.

Using Mega Pokemon such as Mega Blastoise, Mega Alakazam, Mega Latios, and Mega Aggron will make the battle a lot easier for most trainers. Ultimately, you will want to use Fairy, Fighting, Grass, Ground, Steel, Psychic, and Water-type Pokemon. Be careful, because the raid can be difficult if using Normal, Fire, Dark, Bug, Rock, or Poison-type Pokemon.

Here are the best counters to overcoming the raid. Some of these recommendations can be substituted out for Pokemon with type advantage or a better move set.
