Not long after original Bayonetta voice actress Hellena Taylor accused PlatinumGames of an insulting pay offer, new voice for the newly recast titular witch Jennifer Hale has responded.
“With regard to Bayonetta 3,” Hale said in a message. “As a longtime member of the voice acting community, I support every actor’s right to be paid well and have advocated consistently for this for years.”
Hale said that she has “great respect for my peers, and that I am an advocate for all members of the community” but that she is “under an NDA and am not at liberty to speak regarding this situation. My reputation speaks for itself.”
The new Bayonetta voice went on to say that “everyone keep in mind that this game has been created by an entire team of hard-working, dedicated people” and that she hopes everyone “will keep an open mind about what they’ve created.”
Considering the original statements from Taylor may end up in a legal dispute, Hale said that she hopes “everyone involved may resolve their differences in an amicable and respectful way.”
Bayonetta 3 is set to launch on October 28th for Nintendo Switch.
