Sources refute Bayonetta actress Hellena Taylor’s claims over disputed pay offer

A new report has disputed original Bayonetta voice actress Hellena Taylor’s claims for an “insulting” pay offer from PlatinumGames on Bayonetta 3, that she reportedly wanted a lot more pay.

Anonymous sources (via Bloomberg, VGC) have refuted Taylor’s claims, saying “people with knowledge of the situation” as well as “documentation reviewed” confirm Taylor was supposed to be rehired last summer.

The source claims PlatinumGames wanted to rehire Taylor for “at least” 5 sessions, each paying the $3000-4000 rate that Taylor claimed in her videos.

The source noted that each session would be roughly four hours, while Taylor’s original claim was that she was offered a flat $4000 for all of her voicework on the title.

One of the sources claimed the purported $15,000 pay for all of her initial sessions would have been a “significant increase” on her fee compared to the second game.

The sources claim Taylor then asked for a six-figure sum for her voicework, plus residuals (pay that scales based on how the game performs), which Taylor vehemently denies.

Taylor confirmed via an exchange that the offer for more than $4000 was “categorically untrue” and the sources claiming she could have made $15,000 “an absolute lie, and a complete joke.”

“I’d quite like to put this in the [rearview] mirror and leave the whole bloody franchise behind,” Talyor said to VGC. “So I think I’ll just let my videos stand. I spoke the truth.”

Bayonetta 3 is set to launch on October 28th for Nintendo Switch.
