Bayonetta 3 dev PlatinumGames comments on pay dispute, sides with new actress Jennifer Hale

Bayonetta 3

The plot thickens around the Bayonetta 3 voice actress drama – now developer PlatinumGames has finally, officially commented on the matter, though they didn’t say much.

“We at PlatinumGames offer our sincerest appreciation to everyone who has contributed to creating the Bayonetta series over the years, as well as the community that has served as its foundation,” the developer said.

They confirmed their “full support to Jennifer Hale as the new Bayonetta,” and that they “align with everything in her statement.”

Hale’s previous statement also refused to actually comment on the pay dispute from original actress Hellena Taylor, instead it asked for fans to be fair and that no harassing messages were sent to the team.

PlatinumGames echoed this by also asking users to “please refrain from any further comments that would disrespect Jennifer” or any “contributors to the series.”

Anonymous sources had disputed Taylor’s claims on the pay offer to reprise the role of the titular witch, claiming she reportedly wanted much more than stated in her public statements. Whatever the truth, it seems like no one working on the game wants to actually share details – for now at least.

Bayonetta 3 is set to launch on October 28th for Nintendo Switch.
