Bandai Namco and Creant Co. released Battleline: Steel Warfare later last year. The game is currently in its second beta phase, and it’s entirely free to play as well.

Featured above, you can view the game’s announcement trailer, which shows off a mix of gameplay from various perspectives. One of the most interesting things with Battleline: Steel Warfare is the fact that you’re not playing across a single war with its appropriate military technology – instead, the developers are counting on players testing the mettle of tanks across multiple wars.

This raises the question of how well a Panzer does against the M1 Abrams, for example. It also begs the question of how the hell Creant Co. will manage to balance everything to both feel realistic, and yet be fair.

Finally, Battleline: Steel Warfare just got a new update that adds the BMP-1M, Tiger I and M26 Pershing tanks into the roster of armored combatants, but only if you’re sitting at level 28. If you’re interested in giving the game a shot, head on over to its official website for the download link.
