Battlefield 2042 Battlefield Portal Brings Custom Games and Classic Maps

Battlefield 2042

Electronic Arts have revealed the Battlefield Portal for Battlefield 2042; creating custom game modes and utilizing maps from classic games.

Players will be able to play maps from classic Battlefield games; including Battlefield 3, Battlefield Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 1942. Each of these also bring their weapons, vehicles, and classes from their respective games.

In addition, the Battlefield Portal (via any web connected device and an EA Account) will let players edit their own custom games. This includes weapon loadouts, map rotations, and even in-match settings like bullet velocity, health regen rate, and damage modifiers for where the target is hit.

The Rules Editor can also let players set up even more unique game types, and share them online for others to experience. For example, players can create a match where one team uses classic vehicles, weapons, and classes; while the other has access to the tools of Battlefield 2042. An example of this can be seen in the new trailer.

Players can even restrict individual gear, vehicles, and items as they see fit; or create entirely new win conditions with a visual programming language.

You can find the full details here, and the Battlefield Portal gameplay below.

Battlefield 2042 launches November 19th on Windows PC (via the Epic Games Store, Origin, Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
