How long are DICE and EA going to take to get through their skulls that from BF3 and onward, all of the story modes for these games are terrible and the time it takes for them to be made would be better spent on good multiplayer bots, so when the community dies for this game, it won’t be 100% obsolete.

hahaha you REALLY think they would do that?? When the game MP is dead they want you to buy a NEW game.
Only thing that they want is sales and the battlefield sells well. Nothing well change unless the sales dive, and judging by the ultra hype, Battlefield 1 gonna sell.

Finally a AAA WW1 game. I really hope that they won’t fuck this up. Perhaps first time since BF2 I’m kind of excited about a Battlefield game.

Also, rofl, it’s technically true that game named “Battlefield 1” didn’t exist. Boys at EA didn’t have to do a new Battlefield game named just “Battlefield” (2016) like e.g. Bethesda did when they decided to name the new Doom just “Doom” (2016). Or like Epic named the new Unreal Tournament as “Unreal Tournament” (2016). EA and Dice calling their WW1 game with title “1” is a nice touch in my opinion.

Too bad it will be full of cheaters as always.. I’ve played a good deal of Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3 and they’re full of cheaters who use aimbot and various hacks..

I mean, I guess going for World War 1 is interesting.

Couldn’t they have come up with a better name though? Like, I dunno, Battlefield 1914? Since Battlefield [Year] already exists as a naming convention?

What is it with this generation and people fucking up naming conventions? Wii U, New 3DS, Xbox One, and now Battlefield 1. What the fuck is wrong with these people?

  33. GonzoLewd
    May 7, 2016 at 1:43 am

Because it’s not a futuristic setting and the weapons in that era were not used in WWII so not they have not been used to death. Umm, this isn’t a different era so how do you know the gameplay is going to be drastically different from WWII, Vietnam, or Present? You don’t know what the maps are so how do you know that? It is EA, so I am worried about it but hopefully they learned their lesson with the BF4 shitfest.

  34. GonzoLewd
    May 7, 2016 at 1:48 am

Because it’s in World War 1 and that’s exciting.

“WW1 means less weapons or weapons that have been used to death”

There’s literally thousands of weapons that have never been used in WWII that is unique to WWI.

“No real changes in gameplay cause of the era”

Trench warfare is something that we not often see, maybe there will be a bigger focus on teamwork unlike the previous ones where it was so passive and everyone goes rogue. I’m sure they’ll come up with a unique game type other than Rush or Conflict.

    “shitty maps”
We don’t know the maps yet. People will argue they will just be trenches but WWI wasn’t always trenches, historically speaking.

Yeah, I can concede to this. I’m hoping they’ll learn from their mistakes but Battlefront was a fart in the wind so I’m hesitant.

  41. Dgnfly
    May 7, 2016 at 2:54 am

Knowing EA it’ll be a very incomplete game with a lot off DLC packs so basicly the game will cost 150 bucks if not more.

  42. GonzoLewd
    May 7, 2016 at 3:37 am

It’s just a fucking name. It’s not going to effect the game in its mechanics so why sit and whine about it? Sure it could’ve been named 1914-18, but 1 is just them being clever since it’s the first world war.

  43. Smug
    May 7, 2016 at 4:18 am

Because a WW1 shooter actually sounds… refreshing. It’s one of the most important footnotes in history and it is overlooked these days.

There’s allot about the First World War that is very unique in terms of warfare, you had the trenches, the first generation of armed aviation and the success of the Industrial Revolution led to a very unique arsenal of artillery.

It’s pushing the whole black thing. The main character in the campaign is black, as is the CE statue, etc. That’s fine, blacks fought in WW! (even if they made up ~0.3 of the soldiers) but by that same token it’s pretty clear that they’re just trying to pander.

Keep in mind DICE is from Sweden. That tells you all you need to know.

Another Lemon Squiser game. Have not bought a game since BF3, that they crapped up with their subsequent patches to please all the migrating COD players and newbees who want to be OP in chopper or a plane and think they should win 43-0 every time. Sorry not buying anything from EA ever again for myself, and neither should you if you want good games to be made in the future instead of this railroad production of buggy titles and DLCs on day 1 that should have been included in the game to start with. I was a battlefield 3 premium player and got into BF4 beta that was soo buggy and we warned them about it. But as usual, they do not listen. The suit boys never listen.

EA is not a company that makes games. They are a Game factory that releases anything in any state as long as it gives them a profit.

DLC on day 1 is just ridiculousness.
