Battle Arena Toshinden games getting modern re-release

Battle Arena Toshinden

Japanese publisher/developer Edia has announced a new agreement with Takara Tomy to bring classic Battle Arena Toshinden games to modern platforms.

The new agreement will see Edia port the classic fighting games, originally produced by Tamsoft under Takara, to modern platforms in celebration of the series’ 30th anniversary. The series includes:

  • Battle Arena Toshinden – 1995 (first released for PlayStation 1, then Sega Saturn, Game Boy, DOS, and PSP/PS3/PS Vita)
  • Battle Arena Toshinden 2 – 1995 (first in arcades, then PlayStation 1, Windows, and Sega Saturn)
  • Battle Arena Toshinden 3 – 1996 (only released for PlayStation 1)

The re-releases for all three games will come to “current consoles” sometime between the fiscal years 2026 and 2027.
