Batman: Arkham Asylum got an unofficial 4K mod

We’ve learned Batman: Arkham Asylum got an unofficial 4K mod, thanks to some dedicated fans.

Batman: Arkham Asylum launched on PC and consoles back in 2009 and revolutionized the superhero genre of video games, receiving critical acclaim and spawning many successful sequels.

Now, thirteen years after the release of Batman: Arkham Asylum release, modding group GPunity has released a 4K mod of the game’s graphics breathing new life into the game.

As you can see in the trailer below, GPunity shows off their delicate and detailed overhaul of the game’s graphics:

Modders GPUnity boasted over 100 new textures added to the game, including realistic skin surfacing, improved hair textures, and mapping, 4K body textures, high-resolution cape options, and Arkham City style damage, Enhanced clothing textures with improved detail, increased skyline coverage, and more.

While Batman: Arkham Asylum got an unofficial 4K mod, this isn’t the first time GPunity has modded a Batman game, having released a High Definition Texture Pack for Batman: Arkham City back in 2017.

GPUnity’s Batman: Arkham Asylum 4K mod is available now and can be downloaded here.
