Remember that twitter user who got an Xbox One early, posted lots of info, and then got his entire console banned from Xbox Live?

Well, apparently this has gotten the attention of some big wigs at Microsoft, namely Larry Hryb, who has taken the time to get to the bottom of this whole debacle.

Things get even more interesting when a source from mits-error-shipped-small-number-of-xbox-one-1461447636″>Kotaku has reported that the regular edition Xbox One consoles had no set release date in Target’s internal systems.

This was stopped at the source with most warehouses knowing that all of the Xbox One’s editions had the same street date, but one East Coast warehouse accidentally sent out a batch of units.

The statement the Target rep gave can be found below:

“Due to a systems error, Target shipped a small number of video game consoles prior to the street date. The vast majority of video game preorders are slated to arrive on the street date.”

It should be noted that the Target representative did not comment on the source’s information, nor on the actual number of Xbox One’s that were accidentally shipped out.

So dear readers, if you get an Xbox One early – keep it to yourself and just play games on it. Major Nelson is still looking into why that guy’s console was banned, but it could possibly happen again.
