Bang! Bang! Bandits coming to Switch 2 in 2026

Bang! Bang! Bandits

Japanese developer Nippon Columbia has announced a Switch 2 port for Bang! Bang! Bandits, their recent light gun-style game.

Bang! Bang! Bandits – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is set to launch on March 19th, 2026 in Japan. The original game was released for Switch 1 back in 2024.

Owners of the original version can get a paid upgrade pack to the Switch 2 version, and new features in the Switch 2 version include GameShare support, as well as new performance boosts that let you play up to 4K or up to 120FPS.

Here’s a rundown on the game:

Bang! Bang! Bandits is a completely original new gun shooting game that carefully preserves the tension and exhilaration inherent in classic gun shooting games. Yet, it adopts simple rules and controls, featuring bright, pop characters and an easy-to-understand world, making it a game anyone from children to adults can enjoy with peace of mind.

Features

  • Simple controls & straightforward rules mean anyone can play right away – Simply hold your Joy-Con™ like a gun, aim at enemies on screen, and shoot! No ammo limits—just shoot away stress-free! Plus, field movement is fully automatic, letting you focus entirely on attacking! The clear scoring system rewards you with coins for defeating enemies and destroying objects on each stage, making it safe and enjoyable even for young children!
  • 12 distinct stages × 2 leagues for maximum play value – The game takes place across 12 unique stages featuring jungles, cityscapes, ruins, caves, and more. After clearing all stages in the standard Normal League, the max-difficulty Wild League awaits!
  • Unique enemy characters run rampant across the screen – Defeat waves of attacking grunt enemies, the “Goo-Mins,” to advance deeper into stages where vicious bosses lie in wait!
  • Enjoy two playstyles: Challenge Mode and Battle Mode – Challenge Mode lets you tackle stages from the easiest to the hardest. Play solo or team up with 2-4 players to cooperate and clear stages together with family or friends! You can also enjoy competitive play, like Single Battles (individual matches) for 2-4 players to compete for high scores, or Team Battles where two teams of two players each compete for the highest score.
