[UPDATE: Bandai Namco America held a Dragon Ball Xenoverse live stream for us English-speaking Westerners. You can watch the video above.
Throughout the video, we get a good, long look at character creation and customization, which involves picking a Dragon Ball race and altering the appearance of the model from there, then picking skills and equipment. Players start off with a default costume, but will be able to earn additional outfits during the game.
At first, we’re taken on a walk around the game’s lobby, which is Toki Toki City. The different game modes are discussed. The main story has side quests, which the game refers to as “parallel quests”. It’s revealed the game has both offline and online multiplayer, and 1 vs. 1, 2 vs. 2, and 3 vs. 3 modes.
We also get a look at lots of battles and characters on the World Tournament grounds. Click about until you reach the fights if you’re interested in getting to know more about the particulars of combat. Notably, the streamer claims that stamina management in general is a “huge part of advanced play”.]
This is a small, strange update. Bandai Namco have announced that Dragon Ball Xenoverse‘s dates are being shuffled around a bit, in some sort of release date equivalent of a shell game.
The only change is to the American and Steam release dates. The updated release schedule is as follows:
- February 5 in Japan;
- February 13 in Europe;
- February 24 in the Americas; and
- February 27 globally on Steam.
