Bandai has announced the release of a new model kit which lets fans build the fabled Millennium Puzzle from Yu-Gi-Oh.
The model which is manufactured by UltimaGear and sold on Bandai Hobby Site has to be clipped from its plastic casing and put together manually. The end result is a life-size Millennium Puzzle just like the one Yugi Muto wears.
Most interestingly, is just like how Yugi labored over solving the puzzle; it’s alleged that fans will have to construct the puzzle without instructions to guide them.
The Millennium Puzzle is the most featured of all the Millennium Items and was used by the Pharaoh Atem to seal the evil being Zorc Necrophades. As part of the spell, Atem had to seal himself in the puzzle as well and his true name became the spell to unseal both him and Zorc. However Zorc defied Atem by sealing a portion of himself within the Millennium Ring.
The Millennium Puzzle is largely used as the conduit for Atem to possess Yugi Muto in high stakes situations. It was assembled by Yugi after Yugi’s grandfather Sugoroku and the spirit of Atem since came to reside in Yugi’s body.
The Millennium Puzzle model is expected to release August of 2021, and cost 3,850 Japanese Yen. Overseas fans will likely have to add a shipping fee onto that, as it hasn’t been announced for release outside of Japan at the time of publishing
