After launching out of Early Access to critical acclaim and massive sales figures, Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate III is available now for PlayStation 5.

In the blog post on PlayStation’s website, the team detail how this isn’t a mere port, but rather one that takes full advantage of some of the features the PlayStation 5 has to offer.

Examples include how the controller’s light bar will change colors based on the magic spells used in game or whatever status affects have been afflicted onto characters. Using the adaptive triggers, players have options to peek at menu by lightly pulling the trigger without fully opening it.

Because it is a console port of a PC title, controls have been adapted to fit more direct control of movement. However fans of Baldur’s Gate III can also activate a cursor mode to play the game closer to that of the original PC version.

Additional information with this launch include the inclusion of cross-saves between the PC and PS5 version.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available now on Windows PC (via Steam) and PlayStation 5. An Xbox Series X|S port is still planned.
