Baldur’s Gate 3 will fix 1000+ issues in first patch

Baldur's Gate III

Larian Studios founder and CEO Swen Vincke announced an informal “roadmap” for the future development of Baldur’s Gate 3 now that it’s launched.

First thing’s first, players can expect Hotfix #4 to address some of the more pressing issues, but a more thoughtful patch is on the way.

Patch 1 is already set to address over 1000 “fixes and tweaks” to the game. While Baldur’s Gate 3 spent plenty of time in Early Access, the amount of active players exploded with launch and that means there’s bound to be more than a handful of bugs being discovered.

The “tweaks” mentioned by Vincke could mean quality of life changes, difficulty changes, just about anything; there hasn’t been any elaboration with the announcement but we can hopefully expect some in the future patch notes.

Despite two new patches being mentioned, there’s been no confirmation of future content coming to Baldur’s Gate 3 and in truth the game hasn’t marketed itself as a live service game; so that’s to be expected.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available now on Windows PC (via Steam). The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S releases are coming at a later date.
