Netflix has announced Baki Hanma vs. Kengan Ashura, a new crossover anime fight of the ages featuring none other than Baki Hanma and Ōma Tokita.
The new collaboration anime was announced during AnimeJapan 2024 and will premiere exclusively via Netflix, on June 6th. Nobunaga Shimazaki (Baki Hanma) and Tatsuhisa Suzuki (Ōma Tokita) will reprise their roles as dual protagonists.
It remains to be seen if the new Baki Hanma vs. Kengan Ashura anime will be a full series or a one-off movie, or even a short OVA (original video animation).
The most recent Baki anime release, Baki Hanma, is actually the third series on Netflix and is based on the Hanma Baki: Son of Ogre manga. It premiered in 2021 with 12 episodes, and has a second season planned.
The first anime (CG animation, to be fair) of Kengan Ashura premiered via Netflix back in 2019 and ran for 12 episodes. A second season was released later that year, also via Netflix.
