Yostuba& and Azumanga Daioh take place in the same canon if a leak from a Korean blog is legitimate.

Both series were created by artist and writer Kiyohiko Azuma. In 1999 he released what’s perhaps his most popular work Azumanga Daioh, a slice-of-life comedy series that’s been immortalized in memes and weeb culture for decades.

In an alleged leak of the latest chapter, we get to meet a familiar face. Ayumu Kasuga (better known as Osaka) returns as an elementary school teacher at Ena and Miura’s school. They even call her “Osaka-sensei”.

Fans of Azumanga Daioh might remember that it was Osaka’s wish to become a teacher one day, and it seems like she finally made it.

The original source of the leaked chapter appears to be a Korean blog, based on the artwork and additional pages, it appears to be legit.

Yotsuba& has been on an indefinite hiatus for the past four years, but she’s coming back with volume 16 which is available to order now. You can get it yourself here from our friends at Play-Asia. Yotsuba& has been recommended as a beginner manga for anyone practicing reading Japanese.
