Aztecs: The Last Sun launches in August

Publisher Toplitz Productions and developer Play2Chill have announced a release date for Aztecs: The Last Sun, their Mesoamerican city builder.

Aztecs: The Last Sun is set to launch for Windows PC (via Steam) on August 28th, via early access.

Here’s a rundown on the game, plus a new gameplay trailer:

The Aztecs – a Mesoamerican culture that flourished for three great centuries, dominating vast stretches of land in the area and creating a society unique in world history. A gifted and wise nation, rich in complex traditions and beliefs. Become an Aztec leader and do everything you can to make history remember your people.

Aztecs: The Last Sun is a city builder set between the 13th and 16th centuries CE. As your nation’s great leader, you are responsible for building and bringing to splendor the magnificent city-state of Tenochtitlan. This amazing architectural wonder was historically located on an island in the middle of Lake Texcoco and therefore presents the technological and economic challenge of providing food for your people and maintain a permanent trade route with the outside world.

Aztecs: The Last Sun perfectly combines three different aspects of city management: Take care of economic, military and religious growth and prosperity in your city-state. Invest in culture, erect monumental buildings and make human sacrifices to the Gods. They will surely repay you when hard times come.
