Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is delayed to FY 2023

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Ubisoft announced they’ve delayed Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora into 2023, or later.

News that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was delayed to fiscal year 2023 comes in the company’s most recent earnings report. The game was originally slated for a 2022 release across Windows PC, PlayStation 5 Xbox Series X|S, Google Stadia, and Amazon Luna.

“We are committed to delivering a cutting-edge immersive experience that takes full advantage of next-gen technology, as this amazing global entertainment brand represents a major multi-year opportunity for Ubisoft,” the company said of the release date shift.

It would not be an Avatar related project if it was not met with a little bit of delays. After all, Avatar: The Way of Water was originally announced in 2010 with a 2014 release date, and now will be releasing on December 16, 2022, a full eight years later.

Here’s a rundown on the game:

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a first person, action-adventure game developed by Massive Entertainment – a Ubisoft studio, in collaboration with Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney.

Built using the latest iteration of the Snowdrop engine, and developed exclusively for the new generation of consoles and PC, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora brings to life the alluring world of Pandora with all of its beauty and danger in an immersive, open world experience.

In this new, standalone story, play as a Na’vi and embark on a journey across the Western Frontier, a never-before-seen part of Pandora. Explore a living and reactive world inhabited by unique creatures and new characters, and push back the formidable RDA forces that threaten it.
