Atlus issues warning over fake employee accounts

Atlus

Atlus has issued an official warning after discovering fake social media accounts impersonating company employees and spreading false information about upcoming games.

The developer, best known for franchises like Persona and Shin Megami Tensei, posted a statement on its official Japanese account urging fans, content creators, and media outlets to verify information through official channels before sharing it. According to Atlus, these impersonators have no connection to the company and are actively contributing to misinformation online.

The warning comes shortly after a fake account pretending to be director Katsura Hashino gained attention by posting a supposed teaser for “Metaphor: ReFantazio Retold.”

With anticipation surrounding Persona and other Atlus projects at an all-time high, the company wants fans to be extra cautious when encountering leaks or surprise announcements online.
