A follow-up to the rumor comes via Kotaku, who claims they have three people who played the game, as well as many more that have heard about it secondhand.

Their corroboration points to the game indeed being set in Greece, however it will feature a male or a female protagonist (the builds Kotaku heard about did not feature Assassin’s Creed Origins main characters Bayek or Aya), as well as new dialogue options when adventuring.

Lastly, the report points to the game releasing in Ubisoft’s 2019 fiscal year, which ends on March 31st of 2019.

We’ve possibly learned the next Assassin’s Creed game ahead of its possible reveal at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.

The news comes via a reported leak over on Jeuxvideo, which provided a shot of a promotional keychain for Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey.

This lines up with rumors the next mainline Assassin’s Creed game would be a sequel to Assassin’s Creed: Origins, chronologically, and would take place in ancient Greece.

As with any rumors, take this with a grain of salt until we get official confirmation from Ubisoft.
