In the days heading up to Computex 2019, ASRock has announced its newest Phantom Gaming Z390 Motherboards.

It’s unclear if these are simple mid season refreshes or if Z390 will work on the upcoming Comet Lake CPUs though I would doubt it. That being said, ASRock has this to say about them.

Here’s the official blurb on the hardware:

ASRock has decided to give gamers and enthusiasts a welcome surprise by introducing the Z390 Phantom Gaming 7 and Z390 Phantom Gaming X, to join the just launched Z390 Steel Legend. ASRock is bringing new life to the Z390 motherboard market with this complete mainstream to high-end product lineup.

Aesthetics are one of the many big improvements in the new Z390 Phantom Gaming 7 and Z390 Phantom Gaming X. Not only is there the cool RGB lighting already built into the motherboard, plus RGB LED headers, but the beautifully designed pre-installed I/O shield reserves more space for fitting tolerances and allows IO shield positional adjustment while installing, thus fitting the chassis perfectly. Unlike most so-called pre-mounted I/O shields that are only decorated with fancy color schemes, ASRock’s design can truly improve the whole PC building experience.

Performance and stability is the number one priority while designing ASRock products. The board’s large, impressive XXL Aluminum Alloy Heatsinks enhance stability and overclocking potential. Dual full coverage M.2 SSD heatsinks dissipate heat efficiently to ensure your high speed drives always work at their best. Premium 60A Power Chokes and Dr. MOS design means that the Z390 Phantom Gaming 7 and Z390 Phantom Gaming X not only maintain rock solid performance while gaming, but also keep your system stable when overclocking.

Last but not least, the Z390 Phantom Gaming X is the first motherboard that has the revolutionary new Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) high-efficiency wireless network interface, giving even faster WiFi connection speeds up to 2.4Gbps and making next generation technology such as MU-MIMO readily available. The Z390 Phantom Gaming 7 and Z390 Phantom Gaming X are truly designed and built to ensure optimum stability and performance while improving the aesthetics of the motherboard. And with this, ASRock brings new life for the Intel Z390 series motherboard market with a full mainstream to high-end product lineup.

Niche Gamer’s Take – These two boards will slot in at $329.99 and $195.99 respectively and seem to be ASRock filling out their product lineup, with the Gaming X model taking the top dog slot and the Gaming 7 slotting in between.
