Arma 3 Apex: Old Man Free Scenario Now Available

Arma 3

Bohemia Interactive have released a free single player scenario for Arma 3 in the Apex expansion, dubbed Old Man.

Old Man drops players onto the tropical south Pacific island of Tanoa once again. Players control a retired Legionnaire that has settled down for a peaceful life on Tanoa. However, when a malaria outbreak causes mayhem among the local population, the Legionnaire decides to take an active role once again to foil a dangerous power play by the local police and military forces.

You can find the release trailer for the scenario below.

While Old Man is a free single player scenario, it requires the Apex expansion to play. To celebrate, Arma 3 and all of its expansions are currently heavily discounted.

You can find a rundown of the new scenario (via Steam) below:

In Arma 3 Apex: Old Man, you assume the role of a retired Legionnaire living on the South Pacific island of Tanoa. When a new strain of malaria causes yet another humanitarian crisis, and local authorities fail to distribute an effective vaccine to the civilian population, you’re tipped off about a possible plot. Together with a former military contact, you attempt to avert a catastrophic power play in the region.

The new scenario drops you into Tanoa’s 100 square kilometer tropical terrain with just a few instructions. It’s up to you to find your way around, gather intel, obtain weapons and equipment, and decide on the best tactics to accomplish objectives. While the scenario aims to offer an authentic experience, you do have access to a few convenience features, such as the option to wait and skip time, and the ability to fast travel between known safe houses.

Arma 3 is described as a realistic sandbox military shooter, with a single player campaign, multiplayer modes, and unofficial multiplayer modes made by the community.

Arma 3 is available for Windows PC via Steam.
