Studio Wildcard has announced a Nintendo Switch port for ARK: Survival Evolved.
The dinosaur-pooping simulator will launch for the hybrid console sometime this fall. Featured above, you can view the announcement video for the Switch port, as well as the first off-screen gameplay of the dinosaur MMO running on the console.
The Switch version is being developed by Studio Wildcard partner Abstraction Games (the folks that handled the PlayStation 4 version), and will have the full content and feature set from the original game.
Here’s a rundown on the Switch version:
ARK: Survival Evolved on Switch includes the complete contents and features of the original game; from the massive and mysterious ARK island to the more than 100 prehistoric- and fantasy-inspired creatures such as the T-Rex, Giganotosaurus, Rock Drake and Reaper. Hundreds of hours of exploring, crafting, survival and combat await players as they go it alone, or group up with thousands of other Survivors to explore the island and solve the mysteries of the ARK.
The Nintendo Switch version of ARK: Survival Evolved will be developed by our partner studio Abstraction Games (handlers of the PS4 port), and we can’t wait for it! The handheld mode provides a fantastic new capability for survivors who want to immerse themselves in the vast worlds of ARK fully! With this new version, Switch players can go directly from hunting and tame while sitting on the couch, to forming online tribes and searching out new conquests when on the bus, waiting in line, or wherever they happen to be.
Ark: Survival Evolved is currently available for Windows PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
